End the Wait for Supports and Services

Did you know? On top of the 50,000+ adults with developmental disabilities already on Ontario’s waitlist for services approximately 3,000 additional people apply each year.
Shockingly, only about one-third of these applicants will receive services, while the rest are added to the waitlist. As the waitlist grows, so does the uncertainty for thousands of people.
The #WaitingToBelong campaign is calling on the Ontario government to finally prioritize developmental services. It highlights the struggles and barriers faced by people with intellectual disabilities and their families as they languish on the Developmental Services (DS) waitlist, waiting for critical support services, such as housing, employment, and community connections.
At Crest Support Services, we see the impact of this crisis every day. We are working to provide inclusive employment, skill-building programs, and meaningful community connections, but we can’t do it alone. Systemic change is needed.
