Every year on September 9th, communities across the world recognize Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Day. It’s a day to honour the strength of individuals and families living with FASD, and to raise awareness about the unique challenges they face.

Why Awareness Matters

  • FASD is often invisible. Many people don’t realize how common it is or how it impacts everyday life.

  • Families need community support. Raising awareness helps reduce stigma and builds stronger networks of understanding.

  • Inclusion makes a difference. Whether at school, at work, or in the community, acceptance and patience can help people with FASD thrive.

To everyone living with FASD, and to the families walking alongside them: you are not alone. Your resilience inspires us, and your voices matter.
