Supporting People with Developmental Disabilities and/or Mental Health Needs: Why It Matters

At Crest, we support people with both developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges, a combination often referred to as a dual diagnosis. These individuals face unique and complex needs, and they deserve support systems that see the full picture of who they are.

Living with a dual diagnosis can make everyday life more difficult. It can affect how someone communicates, handles stress, builds relationships, or navigates their community. Without the right support, people with dual diagnosis are at higher risk of falling through the cracks whether in healthcare, housing, social services, or right in their community.

That’s why our work is focused on providing person-centered support that addresses both developmental and mental health needs. This means building trust, offering stability, and helping each person develop skills and strategies that work for them.

With the right support, people can reach their full potential.
